Closing Date 06/04/2025 General Definition of Work The advanced studies programming coordinator, under general supervision, performs intermediate-level work with limited decision-making discretion related to monitoring and carrying-out functions assigned to Advanced Studies. Position provides direct support to schools by guiding the implementation of advanced programming, coaching educators, and facilitating professional development opportunities. The role will focus on ensuring equitable access to advanced learning opportunities and fostering best practices in advanced instruction across all grade levels. Employee performs both school-based and district-level work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the Executive Director of Exception Children Services. Support the implementation of K-12 advanced learning and AIG programming across CMS schools
Provide instructional coaching and guidance to educators in best practices for differentiation, acceleration, and enrichment
Develop and deliver professional development for teachers and school leaders on advanced programming, curriculum design, and instructional strategies
Collaborate with school leadership teams to build capacity for advanced learning and ensure alignment with CMS and state guidelines
Assist with data analysis to monitor student participation and outcomes in advanced programs, ensuring equitable access and success
Serve as a resource for schools in developing and refining advanced course offerings and enrichment opportunities
Support the identification and implementation of research-based strategies for high-ability and gifted learners
Partner with families and community stakeholders to promote awareness and advocacy for advanced learning initiatives
Assist in the development of materials, resources, and tools to enhance advanced instruction
Stay current on best practices, research, and policies related to gifted and advanced education
