Director of Educational Leadership Development 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars Charlotte, NC 28217 General Definition of Work The director of educational leadership development, under minimal supervision, performs senior-level work with considerable decision-making discretion leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of CMS leadership development programs for school-based and district leaders. This role is responsible for cultivating a robust leadership pipeline that aligns with the district’s strategic goals, ensuring leaders are equipped to elevate student achievement, foster innovation, and create inclusive school cultures. Employee performs district-level work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the executive director of leadership development. Essential Functions Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned programs/staff in the district Investigate, analyze, and formulate methods for handling special projects/reports Design and oversee comprehensive leadership development frameworks for aspiring, new, and veteran leaders (assistant principals, principals, and central office leaders) Align leadership development with district priorities, including equity, instructional excellence, and talent retention Lead the design and implementation of tiered leadership pathways and succession planning processes Direct the CMS leadership academy, aspiring leaders program, principal preparation pipeline, and mentoring/coaching initiatives Partner with higher education institutions, state agencies, and national leadership organizations to enhance programming Facilitate workshops, leadership institutes, and retreats tailored to leadership competencies and real-world challenges Use qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate leadership programs and drive continuous improvement Develop and monitor key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of leadership pipelines and readiness Serve as a strategic advisor to district leadership on leader development, placement, and retention Collaborate with departments to ensure cohesive leader support systems Monitor and participate in the development and administration of the department budget Complete local, state, or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly Facilitate staff meetings and attend other related meetings as needed/required Participate in professional development workshops and leadership training Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations Perform related work as assigned or required Education and Experience Master’s degree in educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, or related field required Minimum of three (3) years’ of school leadership experience required North Carolina principal or administrator license (or ability to obtain) required Equivalent combination of education and experience # of Jobs 1.00 Teacher Scale N Minimum Educational Requirements Bachelors Term 12 Month Additional Job Information
