Position objectives include studying, evaluating, and implementing research-based curriculum and instructional practices; providing leadership in developing, articulating, and implementing an instructional program; improving instructional program delivery; and coordinating relevant staff professional development.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Master’s degree and endorsements for level of assignment. Certification as a Curriculum Administrator is preferred. Certification, or eligibility, as a teacher in New Hampshire. An understanding or experience using school data systems and student performance data is strongly preferred. Must possess excellent written, verbal communication and problem-solving skills. Five years of successful teaching experience at the appropriate level. Effective oral and written communication skills. Skills in human relations, leadership, and conflict management. Knowledge of curriculum at the appropriate level, best practices in education, and effective school research. Responsibilities of the
Position:
Serves as an instructional resource person in the area of curriculum and instruction across subject areas. Provides coaching and leadership to appropriate grade-span instructional leaders (high school building-level instructional leaders, middle school coaches, elementary reading specialists, elementary math coaches) to ensure correlation between district curriculum and state/national standards. Carry out responsibilities within the Curriculum Management Plan Six Year Curriculum Revision, focusing on professional development and data. Develops, coordinates, and monitors the program implementation to inform coaching and professional development needs of teaching staff Provide coaching and professional development to new teaching staff in the area of instructional programming. Studies and evaluates new instructional techniques for possible use by classroom teachers. Assist in selecting instructional materials as outlined in the curriculum management plan. Stays current in the particular field through professional readings, seminars, workshops, and conventions. Coordinates projects with other Academic Instructional Directors within the Teaching and Learning team. Performs other duties as assigned.
Specified Length/Hours of Position:
This is a grant-funded, non-affiliated 40 hours a week. Continued employment is contingent upon funding.
