Job Description
SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, the Middle School CAO will be instrumental in developing curriculum plans, schedules, and teaching strategies. Responsible for the development, preparation, distribution, evaluation, and overall efficacy of the district’s Tennessee Comprehensive Plan. Member of the Director’s Strategic Planning Team with a role in school district planning and analysis of current programs; school effectiveness, performance, and efficiency; community interface; and overall programmatic success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead groups of professionals from various subject matter areas in assessing current district-wide curriculum in conjunction with state standards; best practices; and cutting-edge, research-based curricula offerings. This work would include the incorporation of timelines for implementation; assessment instruments; and other programmatic areas.
Provides input into all aspects of curriculum delivery, utilizing expertise to influence decisions regarding IT adoption; text selection; equipment selection; staff selection; monetary needs and allocations; and other curriculum-related areas.
Participates as a member of the District Instructional Team. Assists the team in analyzing all district operational and instructional components and developing solutions to problems leading to improved overall performance.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the DOS.
Design and evaluate all instructional professional development.
