The ideal candidate is a multidisciplinary theatre technician and designer with strong teaching skills and experience working with young artists in a collaborative setting. This is a part-time academic year position with some evening hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach high school students foundational and advanced skills in technical theatre through hands-on instruction and project-based learning. Supervise and guide students through all aspects of technical production for departmental performances, including design, build, setup, operation, and strike. Maintain a safe working environment in all production and classroom spaces, modeling best practices in tool usage, rigging, and equipment handling. Collaborate with theatre faculty, guest artists, and student designers to support mainstage productions across technical disciplines.

Lighting:
Design, programming (ETC Ion, Eos Nomad), and Augment3d visualization; use of conventional and LED instruments.
Sound:
Sound design, live audio mixing (analog and digital consoles), playback (QLab), and basic audio recording/editing.
Video:
Projection design and video editing for performance integration.
Scenic:
Scenic design, carpentry, and shop safety using power tools (table saw, miter saw, router, etc.).
Rigging:
Theatrical rigging with counterweight fly systems.
Stage Management:
Organization, cue calling, and rehearsal support.
Software & Tools:
ETC Ion, Eos Nomad & Augment3d Figure 53 QLab Trimble SketchUp (or comparable design software) Digital Audio Workstations (e.g., Audacity, Reaper) Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar video editing software) Power tools and shop equipment Counterweight fly systems
Qualifications:
BA or BFA in Technical Theatre or related field required; MA or MFA preferred. Proven experience in multiple areas of technical theatre production. Experience working with high school or college-aged students in an educational or mentorship role. Strong organizational and communication skills. Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
