PRIMARY FUNCTION
Provides technical theatre instruction for students and serves as technical director for the Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts at Pebblebrook High School.

REQUIREMENTS:

Educational Level:
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre 2.
Certification/License Required:
Valid Teaching Certificate or willingness to become certified; Valid Georgia driver’s license. 3.
Experience:
2 years’ experience in theatrical construction. 4.
Physical Activities:
Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities, walking, standing, kneeling, negotiating stairs and ladders. 5.

Written and oral communication. The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance. 2. Demonstrates knowledge, training, and skill in organizing, maintaining, and managing facilities for the performing arts; demonstrates experience and knowledge in stage management, lighting, scenery, sound and all other technical aspects of live theater. 3. Provides high-quality sound reinforcement for daily events and an ability to program and run conventional and digital audio mixing consoles, medium and large format (Yamaha, Mackie, Midas, etc.); demonstrates ability to mix audio for 18+ wireless microphones plus 4-8 channel track. 4. Demonstrates ability to read, understand and draft theatrical ground plans, construction drawings, lighting plots and schedules using drafting and 3D modeling software. 5. Provides expertise and/or certification for a full fly rigging system; provides expertise in all areas of lighting design and execution for theater, dance, and music; programs intelligent lighting and conventional fixtures using ETC Expression 3 and Emphasis/WYSIWYG 3D systems and the Hog 2PC Control System. 6. Instructs students in all aspects of technical theater including lighting design, set design/construction, sound design and costume design/construction. 7. Fulfills all responsibilities of paperwork such as inventory, equipment repair, report cards, attendance and purchase orders. Secures materials and rental equipment for all productions 8. Serves as lead technical director for all CCCEPA production/performances on and off campus, which may require work during evenings and weekends as dictated by the production schedule. 9. Meets expectations according to the regular high school teacher job description. 10. Maintains positive and supportive communication with other arts teachers within the local school cluster, as well as other theatre teachers within the school system. 11. Provides strong carpentry skills and ability to instruct students in all aspects of safe set construction. 12. Maintains prompt and professional communication with parents, volunteers, and contractors. 13. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
