Part-time schedule during the academic year-11:30-3 daily, and variable schedule during musical season. Montessori Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Drama/Music Teacher to join our team. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing an engaging music and drama program that fosters creativity, self-expression, and a love for the performing arts among our students with an eye towards Montessori philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver age-appropriate lessons in music and drama, aligning with Montessori principles. Develop a curriculum that incorporates instrumental instruction, music theory, and performance skills. Plan and lead performances, recitals, and theatrical productions to showcase students’ talents. Tailor instruction to meet the individual needs and abilities of students, fostering their growth and confidence. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate performances into school events and celebrations. Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, providing regular updates on progress and upcoming events. Ensure care and maintenance of instruments and drama materials. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Music, Drama, Education, or a related field (required). Master’s degree in Music or Drama Education (preferred). Experience teaching music and/or drama, preferably in a Montessori setting. Proficiency in playing and instructing various musical instruments. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to the Montessori philosophy and a passion for nurturing creativity and self-expression in children.

Additional Skills:

English fluency with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong ethical standards and confidentiality.
