Non-Certified Teacher Overtown Youth Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Non-Certified Teacher to join our team. This role is responsible for the care, development, and education of students enrolled at the center. As a Non-Certified Teacher, you will assist in planning and supervising daily classroom activities, providing educational support to students of various ages, and ensuring a positive and supportive learning environment. What You Would Do:
Act as a liaison between Overtown Youth Center and the Miami-Dade County Public Schools (DCPS). Teach a variety of subjects to students of different age groups, adapting lessons to meet their diverse needs. Plan and implement engaging classroom activities, lesson plans, and developmental activities to support students’ academic and personal growth. Work closely with at-risk youth, providing the support and encouragement they need to thrive. Document student progress, including attendance, test scores, and other achievements, to track their development. Assist in organizing and chaperoning field trips and exposure activities. Collaborate with other professionals, paraprofessionals, and program staff to ensure the success of students. Supervise students during dismissal, including bus transportation duties. Build and maintain positive relationships with students, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. Participate in regular meetings with the lead teacher to discuss student progress and program development. Engage in professional development workshops and training to continuously improve your skills and effectiveness as an educator. Contribute to the center’s quality improvement efforts, helping to refine and enhance the educational programs offered.
