Workforce Description Successful applicant will teach evening classes using a variety of teaching methods involving both lecture and hands-on lab instruction. The part-time CDL instructor is responsible for teaching course content, preparing, and keeping appropriate records and syllabi for all assigned courses. Each part-time instructor will provide effective instruction in all classes by implementing active learning strategies and focusing on student learning outcomes. Job Description
Conducts theoretical and technical training classes for commercial vehicles, providing theory, simulation, and practical applications for classes in A and B Commercial Motor Vehicles.
Provides hands-on training in advanced applications, training, and testing preparations in vehicle inspection, skill maneuvers, and road driving skills.
Uses established training materials to present training exercises and practice in preparing students to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle.
Provides training in policy and procedures in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Ability to relate to students from differing educational, economic and social backgrounds.
Provide feedback to students regarding course progression.
Record and maintain suitable class records which show student membership hours, attendance and grades in accordance with deadlines.
Administer and proctor the state licensure exam at the end of term.
Maintains student discipline through effective classroom management.
Inform the Dean of workforce and the registrar of any student issues (academic, attendance, behavior, cheating, and plagiarism) as soon as possible.
Minimum Qualifications
Current and non-restricted Commercial Driver’s License.
7 Years verifiable driving experience with a commercial driving license.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Clean driving record.
