Teaching Full Job Description TITLE:
Automotive Technology Teacher – Concord Regional Technical Center (CRTC) 7.50 hours/day 183 Day Contract (School-Year)
SCOPE OF WORK
We are looking for a full-time automotive technology teacher for 2025-2026 academic year to help students develop the skills and methods valued by postsecondary schools and industry. The automotive program at CRTC is an established and highly successful two-year program with over 50 students. Our automotive lab area includes professional-grade Snap-on and Hunter tools and equipment throughout our eight-bay shop. We also have strong relationships with local dealerships and shops in the region to provide internship opportunities for students. We are open to hiring a qualified candidate from the automotive industry without teaching experience or an experienced auto tech teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 6 years of work experience as an auto technician. ASE areas A4, A5, A6 and G1 required. State Inspection License would be helpful. Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university applicable to teaching assignment preferred or able to obtain a Statement of Eligibility from the NH Department of Education in Automobile/Automotive Mechanics Technology/Technician. Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or ability to provide own transportation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The automotive technology teacher will work with closely with our shop manager, students, and an established group of community partners.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
Able to teach the skills and knowledge required in the automotive technology field including the proper and safe use, care and storage of tools, machines and equipment. Creates lesson plans and instructional materials consistent with the requirements of the industry and in alignment with the school practices. Follows and maintains a required system for grading and reporting of all student activities, including individual achievement and student attendance, consistent with school practices and procedures. Maintains familiarity with industry testing for the purpose of adapting curriculum to maximize student achievement. Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to all students and all levels of ability. Assess student learning and able to modify instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs, including students with Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) and 504s. Ensures timely and effective communication with students and parents. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior in the classroom and in the automotive bays promoting a positive and safe learning environment. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and current instructional methods by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Sit and stand for extended periods of time. Enter data into a computer, operate standard office equipment, and use a telephone. See and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids. Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone. Speak so that others may understand at normal levels and on the telephone. Maintain a driver’s license and ability to attend offsite meetings. Stand, walk, and bend over, reach overhead, grasp, push, pull and move, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds to waist high.

EVALUATIONS
CRTC Principal will conduct performance evaluations on an annual basis.
