We are searching for a compassionate, permanent, part-time candidate that we will train, to be a SCDMV certified Driving Instructor for TEENS and ADULTS. The perfect candidate, will be required to take an online 40 hour course, approved by the SCDMV in order to be certified, if they have never been a driving instructor before. They must live very close to James Island, & they must be able to work flexible hours and work around the student’s schedules, which are Monday through Sunday. The instructor will be able to make their own schedules. The instructor, will be teaching behind-the- wheel instruction, in one of our vehicles., that has the extra brake. Candidate can do additional training and be licensed through the SCDMV to administer driving tests through our driving school. All training is included for your licensure and certification. $20 per hour during training, and after the candidate has completed the 40 hour course, & is a certified SCDMV instructor, it will be $23.00 per hour. If the candidate, already has these qualifications, and has worked as a licensed SCDMV instructor before, the pay will be based on their experience and will be discussed in detail.

Requirements are:

You must have a very good SC driving record, (driving record is required). You must be able to pass a background check. You must be at least 25 years of age, be compassionate, caring and soft spoken. Great opportunity for a previous drivers education teacher from the SC public school system, someone looking for a retiree, police office, fire fighter, or anyone wanting a permanent part time position. If you have completed PE311 Driver Education @ Erskine College or the equivalent @ Coastal Carolina it is a PLUS. Responsibilities Instruct students in safe driving techniques and traffic regulations through both classroom and behind-the-wheel training. Develop lesson plans that cater to various learning styles and ensure effective knowledge transfer. Manage classroom dynamics to foster a positive learning environment. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their driving skills. Communicate clearly with students and their families regarding expectations and progress. Stay updated on state driving laws and educational practices to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
