Veh Tech/Trainee Position Available In Shelby, Tennessee

Learns, observes, and assists other technicians in providing maintenance and repairs on vehicles and ground support equipment. Applies classroom learning to the field to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities mastered. Successfully completes all trainee requirements, including but not limited to, classroom training, CBT, and driving requirements. Completes rotations in vehicle maintenance areas, such as heavy truck, ground support equipment (GSE), and Pickup/Delivery (PUD) and all other program requirements as outlined in current program guide. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education High school diploma/GED. Successful completion of automotive school training sponsored by FedEx Express. Minimum Experience None. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of basic mechanical principles and tools. Basic skills in operating personal computers. Basic teamwork and interpersonal skills. Job Conditions Possession of basic set of automotive hand tools including metric sizes. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and maneuver any weight above 50 pounds with assistance on a regular basis. Must be able to work in noisy, non air-conditioned/heated work area. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be willing to work any shift. Must possess a valid driver’s license in state of residence. Non-covered safety sensitive position. Trainees must attend all classes at the automotive training school sponsored by FedEx.
