Course Descriptions:
The ability to teach Principles of Macroeconomics (ECO 211) and Principles of Microeconomics (ECO 213) is required. Experience in teaching those courses, as well as statistics and upper-division economics courses, is strongly preferred. Course descriptions can be found in https://catalogs.wcsu.edu/ugrad/sas/.
Course Modality:
Candidates must be able to teach in person at the WCSU Westside Campus and Midtown Campus in Danbury, CT.
Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a master’s degree or higher in economics. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in and the ability to teach both macroeconomic and microeconomic principles. Preference will be given to candidates capable of teaching statistics and upper-division economics courses. Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is strongly preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills, as evidenced through professional activity and application materials, are required.
Salary & Benefits:
The current minimum starting salary is $2,026 per load credit (or a minimum of $6,078 for a single 3-credit course). Additional information on benefits can be found at www.wcsu.edu/hr/benefits/. Part-time faculty at WCSU are represented by the American Association of University Professors. All employment, if offered, is contingent upon proof of citizenship or employability under the requirement of the Immigration and Control Act (IRCA) and the successful passing of a background check.
