Job Responsibilities
Economics instructor will teach course offerings (for economics) at Midlands Technical College (MTC) and dual enrollment sites either on-campus, virtual, or online during the regular daytime hours and occasionally nights. The MTC courses, and by extension the professor, are under the purview of MTC and the supervision of the appropriate MTC Department Chair/Program Director. The professor is expected to comply with all MTC policies and procedures. The courses should contain the required student learning outcomes as defined by the department, assessment, and evaluation of student learning outcomes and instructional effectiveness. The professor is expected to prepare course plans and material, manage the classroom environment, and keep updated records in the learning management system for all assigned courses. The instructor will be responsible for compiling department-wide data for the student learning outcomes and reporting the findings annually, contributing to the innovative curriculum development for the economics courses, and collaborating with other economics faculty to select the materials for the economics classes (book selections and online course compliance). This position is located both on and off the Midlands Technical College Beltline Campus.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Master’s degree in Economics, or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Economics.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate or Master’s degree in Economics with demonstrated experience and expertise in teaching to a diverse and non-traditional two-year college student population. Employer
