College of Medicine Faculty Job Summary The Department of Medical Education at the Quillen College of Medicine of East Tennessee State University invites applications for a part-time Faculty position in the area of Medical Education. We seek candidates with physician training, demonstrated excellence in medical education, and ability to teach in multiple courses within our new integrated, organ systems-based curriculum. Preference will be given to those candidates with documented medical teaching experience in a systems-based pre-clinical medical curriculum, expertise in interactive learning pedagogies, and ability to apply their clinical experience to the teaching of basic biomedical sciences to medical students. Medical Education Expertise:

Demonstrated success in teaching medical students in one or more systems-based, pre-clinical courses, with a clear understanding of curriculum design, delivery, and assessment in medical education.

Required Qualifications Education and Training:

Possession of an MD degree from an accredited institution and successful completion of residency training.

Professional Experience:

A minimum of twenty (20) years of experience as a practicing physician following residency.

Teaching Experience:

Documented experience in medical education, specifically teaching in a systems-based, pre-clinical curriculum within a medical school setting.

Instructional Expertise:

Demonstrated ability to teach effectively across multiple basic science disciplines and integrate these concepts with clinical practice. Preferred Qualifications Experience in active learning educational practices.
