Job Goal:
To serve as an instructional and administrative leader of the school, to work with staff, students and community to ensure a high quality educational program, and to formulate and accomplish the school mission.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in administration/school leadership from an accredited college/ university Holds or able to acquire a valid teaching certificate in Alabama with proper administrative endorsement Three (3) years of successful teaching experience Proficiency in oral and written communication skills Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board might find appropriate and acceptable
Performance Responsibilities:
Assist principal in providing effective leadership in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the instructional program Assists in the recruiting, screening, selecting, and assigning of the school’s certified and classified staff Assists in securing, maintaining, and managing material resources Assists in preparing and administering the school budget and school finances Assists in scheduling Helps ensure students receive appropriate placement and services Plans and accomplishes personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication Assists in providing professional opportunities for staff Communicates and clarifies the school’s mission to students, staff, and community Assists in providing a safe, orderly environment that facilitates teaching and learning Assists in providing a climate of high expectations for staff and students Supervises, observes, and evaluates teachers and staff Compile and maintain records and reports of all programs in area(s) of responsibility Properly uses and cares for equipment and material resources of the school system Interprets, supports, and complies with school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local regulations Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor(s)
Terms of Employment/Salary:
12 month (240 Days) / To be determined, commensurate with local salary matrix, credentials, and experience.
