CNP Manager Job Goal:
To assist with the supervision, direction, planning, monitoring and oversight in the safety and quality of the Child Nutrition Program (CNP).
Qualifications:
Holds a high school diploma or equivalent Experience in nutrition, supervision, training, planning, and monitoring of a food service establishment preferred Holds or able to obtain ServSafe certification Proficiency in oral and written communication skills Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board might find appropriate and acceptable
Performance Responsibilities:
Develops knowledge of Child Nutrition Program guidelines and regulations Assists in leading the school CNP staff in promoting the goals and objectives of the school food service program to students, teachers, parents, and community members Assists in supervising the school nutrition program to ensure that proper receiving procedures and storage techniques are followed Assists in preparation and service of food according to the daily written menu Demonstrates ability to use technology to communicate, manage data, and produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and/or school information Assists in maintaining adequate and accurate records and controls including personnel, financial, inventories, operational, and purchasing of food, supplies, and equipment Cooperates with health officials in supporting all local and state public health laws and codes Participates in and promotes professional development, training, conferences, and continuing educational programs for self-improvement and for CNP personnel Monitors the cooler and freezer units during school hours and/or during holidays or weekends if directed by the supervisor Assists in ensuring centralized school system menus are followed Observes tray assembly to ensure that foods are properly portioned to meet requirements and that food is attractively arranged on trays Assists in posts menus at least one week in advance; adjusts menus to accommodate commodity arrivals and/or vendor shortages as approved by supervisor Assists in purchasing food and supplies and checks orders and invoices for quality, quantity, accuracy of weight, and price upon delivery Assists in the locking of the storeroom and secures the cafeteria and work areas before leaving Assists in maintaining a file of standard recipes and instructs CNP personnel in the use of recipes Assists in developing specific duties and work schedules for school CNP personnel in accordance with school system policies and procedures Assists in coordinating the dining room/cafeteria to provide positive learning experiences for students Models and encourages CNP employees to observe high standards of grooming, safety, and effective work habits Posts instructions for use of equipment and schedules for the maintenance of CNP equipment Assists in maintaining and enforcing standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and dining room areas of the school Assists in developing and maintaining a welcoming and positive climate in the cafeteria Maintains ethical standards and confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters in accordance with state and federal law Assumes the position of the manager when the manager is absent Demonstrates physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities and essential functions Properly uses and cares for equipment and material resources of the school system Supports and complies with school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local regulations Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor(s)
Terms of Employment/Salary:
9 month (185 Days) / 7.5-Hours / Non-Exempt / To be determined, commensurate with local salary matrix and experience.
