Exempt Job Goals:

To serve as an instructional and administrative leader of the school and to work with staff, students, and community to formulate and accomplish the school’s mission. To provide assistance in executing all Career Technical Education programs. To conduct an instructional program that combines on-the-job experiences with related classroom instruction to equip students with job entry skills to meet their occupational objectives and/or skills which will enable them to pursue advanced study and training; and include the appropriate student organizations as an integral part of the instructional program. To instill in each student safe working habits, the importance of continuation of his/her education, and the assets of reliability, competence, loyalty, and dependability.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. Three (3) years teaching experience. Valid Alabama teaching certificate with an endorsement in the career-technical area or valid Alabama leadership certificate with at least 2 years administrator experience. Must complete Functions of Coordinator or Principles of Coordination coursework. Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to manage student data. Ability to communicate and work with outside agencies including business/industry, civic organizations, economic development agencies, and private owners. Ability to use technology to communicate, to plan and provide instruction, to facilitate student learning, to manage data, and to produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and/or financial information. Comprehensive knowledge of current curriculum and instructional practices and trends. Ability to plan and organize effectively. Ability to evaluate the work of others. Effective interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups, including, but not limited to, students, faculty, staff, parents, and community members. Knowledge of school law. Successful previous experience in maintaining effective discipline. Ability to plan and conduct faculty meetings. Ability to solve problems as a productive team member. Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities. Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance.
