QUALIFICATIONS
1. Master’s degree from an accredited educational institution. 2. Valid Alabama certification in Educational Leadership, School Principal or Professional School Principal, or Administration and Supervision. 3. Three (3) years classroom teaching experience and/or administrative experience. 4. Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
1. Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the system’s approved compensation plan. 2. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs and activities at the assigned school. 2. Assist the principal in providing an atmosphere conducive to learning and teaching. 3. Assist in coordinating the selection and acquisition of instructional materials and equipment. 4. Assist in coordinating and supervising all testing programs at the school. 5. Assist the principal in selecting, supervising, and evaluating school-based personnel. 6. Assist the principal in developing and coordinating policies and procedures for the operation of the school program and services. 7. Facilitate the implementation of the code of student conduct in accordance with school and system policy to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment and appropriate disciplinary procedures. 8. Assist with the development and implementation of an effective staff development program. 9. Assist in overseeing programs for students with identified special needs, e.g. , Special Education, ESOL, and 504. 10. Assist in developing and implementing family and community involvement programs and business partnerships. 11. Analyze student performance data as a basis for curriculum improvement and staff development needs. 12. Assist in the selection and supervision of substitute personnel. 13. Assist in developing and monitoring the school budget. 14. Assist in managing student accounting and attendance procedures. 15. Prepare or oversee the preparation of required reports and maintain all appropriate records. 16. Counsel with students, parents and staff to resolve problems and concerns. 17. Maintain visibility and accessibility on the school campus and at school-related activities and extra-curricular events. 18. Collaborate with school and system personnel in planning and implementing system initiatives. 19. Assist in developing and implementing positive public relations for the school. 20. Assist the principal in the development and implementation of procedures for addressing school safety. 21. Investigate student accidents and other incidents and take appropriate action. 22. Provide assistance with the local school guidance program. 23. Assist in the development of the school’s master schedule. 24. Assist in the supervision of loading and loading of buses. 25. Improve skills and knowledge through in-service and other professional development programs. 26. Assume other reasonable job-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
