JOB DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree from an accredited educational institution. Certification in Educational Leadership or Administration and Supervision. Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in special education.

JOB GOAL

To supervise and coordinate Special Education, Gifted, and 504 services.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan and direct services for Special Education (SPED) personnel in the system. Work closely with school personnel and provide leadership in program requirements. Write and submit SPED grants. Coordinate integration of SPED into school programs. Work to maintain good public and community relations. Procure and distribute needed materials and equipment for SPED programs. Interact with parents, outside agencies, business and community to enhance system initiatives. Keep the supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events. Facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of staff development in assigned areas. Represent the system positively and professionally with communication and dress. Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent and/or designee.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Light Work:

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid in accordance with the System’s approved compensation plan.
