ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Middle School Assistant Principal assists the school principal in the planning, organization, administration, and management of the school. This position assists with the supervision of staff, maintaining a safe environment, monitoring curriculum, budget development, and other duties associated with the successful operation of a middle school. The assistant principal acts in the capacity of the principal during the principal’s absence from the school. The position requires an exceptional leader: with a minimum of five years’ teaching experience; administrative experience preferred. with Connecticut Certification for Intermediate Administration and Supervision (092). with effective interpersonal skills in working with students, parents, community, and staff. with strong planning, organizational, and technology skills. with a strong background or study in educational administration/evaluation/supervision. who is a collaborative decision-maker who puts the needs of the students and student learning ahead of all else.
