Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, you will play a crucial role in assisting students with registration, admission, and payments. Your responsibilities will include addressing student inquiries, processing applications and fees, evaluating documents, and providing essential clerical support.

Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Outreach:

Assist with workshops and create engaging newsletters and flyers.

Student Guidance:

Direct students to the appropriate departments for admissions, course registration, and PERT testing.

Application Support:

Help students with applications, verify Florida residency, and evaluate high school transcripts.

Payment Processing:

Handle payments for college classes, tests, and other services, ensuring daily balances and secure transactions.

Course Scheduling:

Manage scheduling for vocational, supplemental, and non-credit courses, and process Dual Enrollment paperwork.

Liaison Services:

Act as a bridge for students seeking Advising, Financial Aid, and Career Transfer Services.

Data Management:

Enter and maintain student registration information, both electronically and in hard copy.

Administrative Support:

Assist counselors and advisors with clerical tasks, coordinate office workflows, and manage room usage.

Communication:

Answer and direct calls on a multi-line telephone system.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include: Minimum of an Associate Degree required; Minimum of two years of experience providing quality customer service; Experience working with students or in an educational environment; Proven experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications to include Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel as well as word processing experience; Consistently demonstrate a positive, student-centered attitude Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills; Basic cashiering and bookkeeping skills; Experience working with a diverse population, including students, faculty, staff, and the public; Ability to be well organized and self-motivated; Ability to maintain strict accuracy and be detail oriented; Identify needs of students in relationship to the student services desk, enrollment center, and welcome desk and follow up on needs without explicit direction; Ability to remain calm and professional at all times, diffusing situations as necessary; Ability to work independently as well as with others to solve problems efficiently.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Greeting all students and visitors to the A building lobby, providing a welcoming and informed presence at the student services’ welcome desk and enrollment center, and presenting a positive first impression; Serving as the first point of contact for college inquiries and enrollment management in person and via phone and directing those inquiries appropriately; Maintaining knowledge of all services provided by the Enrollment and Student Services Division to facilitate a point of entry to the student; Answering questions relating to admissions, registration, course offerings, and degree programs; Helping every student who applies to IRSC to complete all admissions requirements; Assisting students with financial aid questions; Cashiering; Teaching students how to access online resources; Assisting students with residency documentation and processing required registration paperwork; Demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse student population, within FERPA guidelines; Consistently demonstrating sound professional judgment relative to individual students; Preparing students to meet with their assigned advisor. Assisting the campus in cooperative projects to recruit, retain, and enhance the success of students.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Assisting students with application and residency forms and documentation. Processing student payments. Describing classes and programs to students. Answering incoming telephone calls and walk-in inquiries. Assisting students with questions about course schedule and availability. Managing and coordinating paperwork flow to other offices at IRSC. Assisting with enrollment management services and activities, both on and off campus, to promote IRSC programs. Take responsibility for tasks, special projects, and assignments as directed. Performing duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Provost or Program Director. The normal working hours for this position are: 1:30p.m. to 6:30p.m. Monday through Thursday with the required flexibility to cover other shifts as needed. Some Fridays and evening hours may be required during peak registration periods.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College. Classification Staff Supervisory No FLSA Exempt No Employment Type Regular Compensation and Application Deadline Pay range starts at: $15.00/hour | All salary calculations start at the minimum salary and will be based on the candidate’s education and experience. | Open until filled.
