Salaried/Exempt Overview The Assistant Principal for Student Life will have a lead role in developing a forward-looking student and a support system that reflects the school’s mission by fostering a school culture rooted in our Catholic faith and the charism of the Sisters of Notre Dame. This position will be an integral part of the Administration of the school and will serve as a member of the senior leadership team. Job Responsibilities Provides administrative supervision of the planning, implementation, and supervision of programs and services in the area of student life. Supervises all co-curricular activity moderators on faculty and staff including setting annual goals and end-of-year reviews Supervisors the Director of Campus Ministry Serve on the Strategic Planning Committee Ensures the Integration of the Charism and Recognition with the Sisters of Notre Dame partnership. Explore, develop, and implement a community-based house system for students, faculty, and staff. Collaborate with the Director of Enrollment Management to develop strategies to engage students, including but not limited to Open House and New Student Orientation. Oversee and promote growth of all clubs and their activities. Keep schedules and be a liaison between school administration and student clubs and organizations. Provide programs, events and opportunities to all students and outreach to underrepresented students. Work with the school chaplain and theology department to support the Ministry Program and Retreats. Work with Marketing/Public Relations Manager to publicize student centered activities. Collaborates with the Assistant Principal for Administration and the Assistant Principal for Curriculum to conduct teacher observations. Work with the Director of Advancement to ensure funding for special student activities. Create and manage a strong volunteer base with ongoing communication and active participation. Oversee programs in the student life area to ensure continuing quality, innovation, and engagement by students in academic and non-academic events. Evaluates co-curricular program and program leadership on a regular basis. Monitor budgets and provide effective and responsible fiscal planning for events. Other duties as need presents or as designated by the principal.

Requirements:

Master’s Degree. Current certification in (or equivalent) in Florida, or willingness to pursue in a timely fashion. Experience working in a school setting, preferably in a disciplinary role or as a teacher/counselor with discipline responsibilities (preferred). Deep understanding of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions, and a commitment to promoting them within the school community. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators. Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Patience, empathy, and a genuine concern for the well-being and academic success of students. Proficiency in computer applications and record-keeping systems for maintaining accurate disciplinary records and generating reports. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with emphasis on meeting tight deadlines. Ability to work effectively with School and Diocesan employees, department heads, representatives of other agencies, and the general public. Adherence to the Diocese of Venice Code of Conduct with emphasis on confidentiality.
