COORDINATOR OF STUDENT SERVICES – PART-TIME 4.3 4.3
out of 5 stars 8810 US Highway 280 E, Black Creek, GA 31308 Bryan County Schools is accepting applications for the part-time position of Director of Student Services. This position provides supervision of Nurses, Social Workers, Attendance Committees, Disciplinary Hearings and alternative school services. Work in collaboration with school and county administration to ensure cohesiveness of services. Leadership is provided in the following key areas of support: data management, student achievement and parent support, staff support, and development and implementation of policies and procedures that follow local, state and federal regulations.
Major Job Duties Include:
Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g. school administrators, public agencies, community members, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and/or maintaining services and programs Compiles data from a variety of sources for the purpose of analyzing issues, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures, and/or monitoring programs Coordinates program components, support needs and materials for the purpose of delivering services which conform to established guidelines Develops and manages budgets as assigned for the purpose of assuring appropriate allocations and fiscal practices Facilitates meetings, professional learning, etc. for the purpose of identifying issues, developing recommendations, supporting staff through capacity building, and serving as a representative of the district Performs personnel functions (e.g. interviewing, supervising, assisting with the evaluation process, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staff and enhancing the productivity of personnel Participates in a variety of meetings (e.g. board meetings, trainings, hearings, etc.) for the purpose of providing and/or receiving information Researches current topics required to manage personnel and programs (e.g. relevant policies, new federal and state guidelines, resources, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, securing general information and/or responding to requests Responds to issues involving staff, conflicts in policy and regulations, community concerns, and parent requests for the purpose of identifying relevant issues and recommending or implementing a plan of action that will resolve the issue Conducts student discipline hearings individually and with school board panels as required by Georgia law Carries out such other duties and responsibilities, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee’s supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law, board policy, administrative regulation, or department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission Supports the alternative education program for the district
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, educational leadership, or school curriculum. Experience in some aspect of school administration is desirable. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered. Experience in work involving the welfare and safety of students or others, preferably educational environment.
