$44.6K – $56.5K a year 2 days ago Qualifications Microsoft Outlook Mid-level Microsoft Office Master’s degree Bachelor’s degree Ellucian Communication skills Full Job Description As a student success adviser, you will build relationships with 400-500 SCAD students early in their academic careers to provide quality educational experiences in collaboration with campus services. Through the First-Year Experience course, you will guide a caseload of incoming students assigned by major through orientation. You will monitor their progress after course completion and until graduation through ongoing contact and early alert programs. A regular communication plan is essential for tracking enrollment and coursework. You will also advise students on financial aid, account management, and major/minor selection. This position will involve developing training programs for degree audit software, MySCAD, and web registration, and providing guidance on academic and university policies to help students complete transactions. Additionally, you will assist students with course registrations, review selections, help with forms, and manage web requests for registration overrides and curriculum variances. In this role, you will coordinate services with admission, the bursar, student involvement, the office of career and alumni success, student support services offices, and academic services to develop communications and programs that enhance student retention. Responsibilities will include participation in the summer programming to engage with new students and parents before enrollment, student contact documentation in Salesforce, and curriculum review and catalog proofing assistance. Among other duties, you will regularly communicate with department chairs and faculty about curriculum, course needs, academic policy, and academic advising procedures. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional communication, organizational, and collaborative skills. They also meet deadlines and work well independently and as part of a team. Candidates should thrive in a fast-paced environment and are enthusiastic about fostering a positive atmosphere that prepares students for professional careers. The successful candidate possesses an in-depth understanding of academic programs associated with their assigned caseload and a working knowledge of all undergraduate programs offered at SCAD.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree Experience in advising, financial aid, or higher education counseling Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Banner Travel required: Less than 10% Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday.
