Job Description

St. John School -Principal Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge 58725 Saint Clement Ave, Plaquemine, LA 70764 St. John the Evangelist School Founded in 1853, St. John the Evangelist School in the Diocese of Baton Rouge is seeking a Principal to collaborate with our parish, faculty and staff in service to our PreK3 – 12th grade students. St. John is co-educational school whose mission is to provide a disciplined, nurturing environment guided by Catholic values, where students grow through rigorous academic experiences, faith and moral formation, and opportunities for service and leadership. The Diocese of Baton Rouge has 29 Catholic schools in eight civil parishes. St. John School, having met the requirements established by the COGNIA Association Commission and Board of Trustees, is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement. Applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. Must be a practicing Catholic for whom loyalty to Christ, His people, and the Church are of first importance and hold a philosophy of education consistent with this Catholic conviction. 2. Possess a Master’s degree, preferably, in education, with necessary credentials to be certified as a principal under Louisiana State Department of Education standards. 3. Have at least five years of teaching or school administration experience 4. Demonstrate leadership ability in past or present educational assignments.
