Executive Director Reports to: Marine Village School Board of Directors Directs and supports the work of: All school personnel Responsibilities include:

  • Provide transparent leadership, foster a collaborative culture,and lead a team devoted to academic excellence.
  • Ensure Marine Village School organizational integrity.
  • Guide the Marine Village School leadership team, includingOperations Manager, and Administrative Assistant towardsorganizational cohesiveness.
  • Recruit and select top notch educators and confirm activelicensure for all teachers.
  • Supervise teachers and all staff in ensuring the Marine VillageSchool mission is implemented with integrity.
  • Conduct classroom observations, and mentor teaching staff
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with MVS board ofdirectors, staff, students, families, volunteers and donors.
  • Oversee transportation to ensure safe transfer of students toand from school each day and for field trips
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with members of thecommunity
  • Steward Marine Village School’s financial and materialresources.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the annualbudget
  • Lead the development of a three-year growth plan, including thepossible addition of a middle school model
  • Facilitate professional development for all staff
  • Serve as an expert resource for the Board of Directors
  • Ensure accurate and timely regulatory compliance andreportingEducation
  • Must have MA or EDd and license in School Administration orEducational LeadershipExperience and Qualifications
  • Public School Administrative experience
  • Familiarity with Charter Schools in MinnesotaQualificationsTheideal candidate is a licensed school administrator with extensiveexperience in managing budgets, compliance and MDE reporting andclearly understands how to ensure organizational integrity throughsolid management of school funds and resources.

Institution DescriptionMarine Village School is a small,community-based Public Charter school located in the heart ofMarine on St. Croix, Minnesota. This historic town has embraced anunwavering commitment to high-quality education in Minnesota fornearly two centuries, having established one of the first schooldistricts in the state, originally the distinguished District#3. Currently a K-5 Charter School in its third year of operation, withapproximately 100 students, Marine Village School offers a dynamic,nurturing environment with small class sizes. We combine inspired,innovative classroom instruction with expansive outdoor learning,including our amazing School Forest, and rich educationalopportunities through our community partners, most especially theMarine Mills Folk School, which exists alongside us in ourbuilding.
