Job Description
POSITION TITLE
TEAM CHAIR
- SPECIAL
EDUCATION
FULL-TIME
ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
Responsibilities:
Collaborates and coordinates with administrators, educators, and instructional assistants. Provides department leadership. Collaborates with intervention teams and administration to analyze and if needed, improve services and interventions informed by ongoing needs assessment, data review, and innovation in the field. Provide leadership to the Special Education Team process.
Liaison with families and providers. Collaborate with staff, students, and administration to identify and provide proactive and responsive support and programming to all students. Collaborate with staff, students, and administration to identify, develop, and provide proactive and responsive professional development and consultation to staff. Develop and enhance community partnerships with varied community agencies to meet the identified needs of students/families.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or higher preferred.
- DESE Massachusetts Educator License preferred.
- Cultural responsiveness and a growth mindset with students, families, and staff are a must.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks, as well as the ability to be flexible and organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledgeable and proficient with Federal/State laws and regulations and the IEP Team meeting process
Salary/benefits as per NAFT Teachers Local4292.
