POSITION SUMMARY
This is a fully on-site role. The Academic Services Associate delivers holistic, personalized, one-to-one advising and support to students at Quincy College. The Associate will provide support in all areas related to Quincy College students to include but not limited to admissions, enrollment, and student success. Working collaboratively with all student support services, the incumbent is responsible for supporting new students as they transition to Quincy College, and interventions to promote student success. Responsibilities include interpreting and explaining College policies and procedures; serving as an advocate for students, when appropriate; and acting as an advising resource for Quincy College faculty advisors. The Academic Services Associate is expected to be in regular communication with all students, follow up with advisees, and conduct day-to-day advising appointments. This role will also be responsible for supporting and advising all student athletes at the College, and for working collaboratively with the college athletics director and teams. The Academic Services Associate will work with specific student populations as needed and ensure their course registration and course completion. The incumbent must be knowledgeable of the admissions process, including, financial aid, registration, and other student support services. The Academic Services Specialist is expected to educate both prospective and current students, other college constituents, and high school guidance offices on these resources. The Academic Services Associate will assist with New Student Orientation and other first year student programs. The incumbent guides students through the program application process, including selective program requirements and materials. In addition, this person is actively involved in College outreach and recruitment activities.
Essential Functions:
Deliver student-centered academic advising to students at the Quincy and Plymouth campuses as well as Online. Promptly and courteously respond to emails, phone calls, and other requests from students, campus partners, and external constituents. Schedule appointments to meet with current students to provide information about the college and address academic issues or concerns. Schedule appointments and communicate regularly with student athletes to ensure that they are eligible to play and are successful in their classes. Maintain notes based on advising appointments. Assist in administrative responsibilities for the office, up to and including supervision of Student Employees. Provide administrative support to other student offices as needed. Assist in advising correspondence including, but not limited to, the Academic Advising email address and various social media channels Advise students on major selection/affirmation; understanding one’s curriculum and the degree completion process; and course selection and registration procedures. Develop fluent familiarity with all college programs and articulation agreements; college policies and procedures; and office business processes. Assist with New Student Orientation and other first year student events, including but not limited to, open houses, welcome sessions, commencements, honors convivium, community and college meetings. Provide accurate information and assistance to students in collaboration with College offices, including admissions, advising, registration, financial aid, and student development. Assist with outreach activities, including registration calls, information sessions, campus tours, virtual office appointments, zoom sessions, and off-campus visits. Assist with all recruiting initiatives of prospective students, current students, parents, and all constituents, including information sessions, campus tours, virtual office appointments, zoom sessions, and off-campus visits. Maintain foundational knowledge and assist in/with all areas pertaining to student financial aid/admission/ enrollment/registration/business/technical areas. Schedule appointments to meet with prospective and current students to provide comprehensive information to answer their questions, issues, and concerns in all matters relative to financial aid/admission/registration/academic advising/business matters. Assist with outreach activities and all recruiting initiatives of prospective students, current students, parents, and all constituents, including information sessions, campus tours, virtual office appointments, zoom sessions, and off-campus visits. “Walk” students and prospective students through administrative/enrollment (admissions, course election, registration, financial aid, business) processes, providing instructional and technical support as needed. Participate in relevant professional development opportunities. Participate in mandatory training/coursework, including but not limited to: Title IX and Sexual Misconduct Non-Discrimination and Sexual Harassment Security Policy and Notification of Security Reporting FERPA Municipal Ethics Law Assume other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience Requirements:
A minimum of one year of advising experience in higher education, knowledge of current student development theory and research, willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team, and a proven ability to create a safe and welcoming environment for students from diverse backgrounds. Experience working with first year, transfer, and non-traditional students is strongly preferred as is the ability to communicate in more than one language.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment and transition among various offices Demonstrated ability to learn new software and systems to include (FAFSA) financial aid process and requirements, Jenzabar and Accuplacer Strong commitment to the delivery of student-centered academic advising Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

TRAVEL:
Work assignments and travel required between Quincy and Plymouth campuses as well as the Boston site.
