Position Information Title AY25-26 Half (.5) Graduate Assistant – Social Work
Position Description The Half Graduate Assistant (.5 GA) will work 10 hours per week and receive up to 15 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 6 for fall, 6 for spring and 3 for summer. Overview and Duties
This is an exciting opportunity for a .5 graduate assistant to work in the School of Social Work to help develop a strategy and plan with the associate dean and administrative team to address opportunities for outreach and marketing school of social work programs. We will consider the needs assessment recommendations and connect with university areas to determine their agreement and alignment with our goals (e.g. marketing.) We will work with our needs assessment to develop a targeted marketing strategy and, if possible, have our GA work to make some connections with our community members to help with recruitment. The .5 GA will work to develop a few action documents/plans and help develop strategies for addressing the opportunities in the data collected, helping the associate dean to determine priorities deliverables. Preferred Qualifications This would be a a good experience for a business student or student interested in marketing, community connection/collaboration, recruitment, and finding creative ways to meet project goals. Students will work and report to the associate dean at the school of social work and have some exposure to leadership and faculty engagement in shared governance to achieve strategic goals.
Skills needed:
analytic skills, computer skills (Excel and Word), research skills or interest, interpersonal skills to build relationships. If possible, some meetings external to the school may be encouraged if the student has ability to travel locally. Seeking an individual with strong computer skills (Word and Excel) and an interest in learning new computer skills that may benefit the work.
