BASIC PURPOSE
The Graduate Assistant for the Division of Student Affairs supports the daily operations and initiatives that promote student development and campus community at Assumption University. This role involves assisting with programs and services related to student conduct, residential life, student engagement, and wellness. The Graduate Assistant will work closely with professional staff to foster a supportive and inclusive campus environment that aligns with the mission of the university.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Student Engagement and Programming:
Assist in planning, organizing, and executing student programs, events, and activities that promote campus engagement.
Collaborate with various student organizations and departments to support student-led initiatives.
Help coordinate and implement leadership development opportunities for students.
Support the development and execution of wellness and mental health initiatives.
Assist the Student Engagement and Leadership team in development and execution of community-wide events, such as Orientation, Welcome Week, Family Weekend, and Spring Weekend.
Administrative Support:
Assist with general office duties, including answering phones, responding to emails, and engaging with students.
Help prepare reports, presentations, and communication materials for Student Affairs.
Student Outreach and Communication:
Engage in regular communication with students, promoting awareness of campus resources and services.
Assist in the development and distribution of marketing materials, newsletters, and social media content.
QUALIFICATIONS
Enrollment in a graduate program, preferably in Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field.
Strong commitment to the mission and values of a Catholic university, including respect for its religious identity.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience in student leadership or campus programming is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
Work Schedule:
This position requires approximately 20 hours per week during the academic year, with flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments.
