Qualifications:

oMust hold appropriate Massachusetts Licensure for Principal/Assistant Principal;oExperience as a successful educational leader;oA minimum of 5 years as a successful teacher;oMinimum of a Masters Degree in Education;oKnowledge and experience with supervision and evaluation, curriculum development, scheduling and personnel management;oEffective communication skills;oInnovative, motivational and collaborative leadership style;oCommitted to Educational Excellence.

Responsibilities:

oTo coordinate the program of instruction for all grades K through six;oTo develop, recommend, and implement research-based teaching methods, procedures, and practices;oTo approve, support, and implement the delivery of services, in collaboration with the Administrator of Special Education, to children with Individualized Education Plans;oTo evaluate the effectiveness of all personnel in the school and to re-employ or discharge school personnel;oTo assign teachers and other school personnel to various duties;oTo develop professional development programs for staff; oTo assist in the planning and implementation of curriculum development and revision;oTo supervise the schools discipline program and implementation of curriculum development and revision; oTo supervise the schools testing program, consistent with district and state policies;oTo supervise the record-keeping system for all students;oTo attract and retain the most qualified teachers;oTo serve as co-chair of the schools council and develop an annual School Learning Plan;oTo assess the budgetary needs of the school and recommend an annual budget to the Superintendent of Schools;oTo demonstrate and model educational excellence through instructional leadership.
