Responsibilities:

? Promotes the school and the LHS and CTEi principals’ vision for improving instruction
and student achievement within the Culture of Achievement.
? Participate in interviews for teacher candidates.
? Attend part of new teacher orientation and actively participate in acclimation and
onboarding of new staff.
? Meets regularly with department members to conduct or lead department activities such
as common planning, curriculum review, budget preparation, data analysis, and
collaboration.
? Attends Instructional Leadership Team Meetings; assists with the development and
implementation of school-wide and department-specific initiatives.
? Shares feedback on curriculum, instructional, assessment, and student support practices
with department members through collaborative professional development activities
such as PLCs and Learning Walks.
? Submits the department budget to the principal
? Annually reviews with the department and updates the Program of Studies.
? Recommends course assignments to the principal.
? Maintains an inventory of department resources.

Qualifications:

? Minimum of 5 years teaching experience
? Masters degree preferred
? Hold current DESE licensure
? Record of student success
? Professional Teacher Status
