Description The School of Education in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at Rockhurst University has an opening for a full-time Department Assistant position. Primary responsibilities include providing support for the School of Education Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ed.
D. programs and faculty. Responsibilities also include support for student teaching and field experience placements, and education assessment and accreditation reporting. Assistance is provided for the Chair of Rockhurst University’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL). This position oversees the hiring, training, and supervision of work study students. This position will also aid the department by organizing and keeping notes at all departmental meetings, assisting with departmental financial records, ordering department supplies, supporting the department social media accounts, and other departmental duties as assigned. Staff members are expected to be effective at managing time and tasks with deadlines, proficient in the use of technology and communicating timely and professionally with students, other staff, faculty, administrators, and community members. They are also expected to serve the College by contributing to the growth and enhancement of the College’s mission and programs. This position will handle information that is both confidential and technical and requires that strict guidelines are maintained and respected. An active leadership style as well as a collaborative, team-oriented, and communicative personal style will be crucial for success. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 1 year in an office clerical position or related experience Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines Capable of being detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy with documents and records Experience working with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
