JOB GOAL

To provide leadership and ongoing support to principals and teachers in order to better promote successful educational experiences for all students

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develops goals and objectives, programs and operations, which are consistent with the district’s mission and goals Monitors and evaluates progress toward the implementation of the district’s goals and objectives Uses data to identify, implement, and monitor the programs of the district Communicates high expectations for the staff, students, and other stake-holders Supports the Curriculum & Instruction Office in coordinating building efforts to enrich curriculum, instruction, and standards implementation Monitors, observes, and evaluates lessons and teaching standards as they affect students Ensures that high standards of teaching and learning, including assessments are set and maintained Provides leadership to enhance the professional growth and development of staff Develops, coordinates, and delivers on-site workshops, training, and support sessions to ensure appropriate leadership development for principals, teachers, and other staff Develops and conducts professional development sessions for schools that will guide teachers toward best practices and engage school administrators in becoming instructional leaders of their school Assists with building leadership capacity in administrators and teachers Analyzes district data to be used for improving instructional practices and student achievement Utilizes student, school, and district information to make data-driven decisions Provides communication, support, and technical assistance to school and district personnel Works with the principal to develop, implement, and evaluate a school improvement plan for the school Compiles/revises School Improvement Plan and shares progress at state and national levels Involves all stakeholders in school improvement planning, monitoring, and communication Strengthens the instructional leadership in the school by mentoring, monitoring, and advising principals and teachers; advising and directing on needed procedural modifications discovered during the course of the consultation; observes classrooms and provides post observation conferencing with teachers and administrators; and coaches and mentors building administrators in classroom observations and conferencing Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
