PRINCIPAL
- HIGH, MIDDLE, AND/OR
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid State of Mississippi license with an administrative endorsement
- Knowledge of computers, related technology, and software
- A minimum of three years as middle or high school classroom teacher
- Prefer experience as a building level administrator
- Other necessary requirements as stipulated by the Board of Education and the Mississippi Department of Education
- Proficient in the use of voicemail and e mail#

- All assigned certified and classified personnel

JOB SUMMARY
- Handles planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising all educational activities and all related and supporting activities of a high school

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Leads, supervises, and evaluates the school’s instructional and co-curricular programs
- Assists in selecting, recommending, and evaluating building personnel as assigned
- Develops and enforces procedures for effective student discipline in accordance with district policies and procedures
- Supervises building maintenance, budgeting, the student activity account, and expenditures and the preparation of all school reports, as assigned
- Provides appropriate staff development programs at the building level, as assigned
- Communicates school mission to staff, students, parents, and community
- Maintains and executes policies of the Board of Education and district administration
- Oversees the assignment of substitute teachers through the contractor
- Encourages parental and community involvement in school improvement
- Works cooperatively with private transportation provider to insure quality school bus transportation services
- Adequately maintains skills related to the use of technology
- Manages in-school and Saturday detention
- Serves on site-based management committee (SACS).“`{=html}“
- Responsible for insuring that every employee under his/her supervision follows the district’s policy on overtime and the requirements of the Wage and Hour Act.“`{=html}“
- Responsible for insuring that the district’s fixed asset procedures are followed.“`{=html}“
- Performs other related duties as requested or assigned
- Assists in the fostering and promotion of a positive school/office climate
- Maintains a professional demeanor during all interactions between colleagues, parents, students and administration.
