JOB GOAL

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
School Personnel Assigned by Principal; Supervises employees in the Junior High when the Principal is absent from the building. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.
Serves as administrative head of the school in the absence of the principal.
Supervises teachers and departments as assigned by the principal.
Manages building staff, including class schedules and building problems as requested.
Supervises staff attendance and assignment of substitute teachers.
Assists with coordinating the development of the master teaching schedule.
Analyze data and collaborate with the principal to inform academic decisions
Administers a program of student discipline and interacts with students to encouragepositive performance.
Provides general supervision to students. Supervises extra-curricular activities. Maintains relationship with parents and community.
Coordinates and/or attends school functions.
Assists the principal with budgets and other financial matters as directed.
Assumes responsibility for coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services as assigned.
Performs such record-keeping functions as the principal may direct.
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Mississippi Administrative Certification (486, 487, 488).
Demonstrated ability to work well with students, parents, peers, and the general public.
Classroom teaching experience. Effective writing and verbal skills. Administrative/Supervisory experience preferred. Masters Degree in Education, minimum 5 years teaching and/or administrative experience.
