Student Services Coordinator 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars New Bern, NC 28562 JOB The Student Services Coordinator provides advising services to new and returning students in areas pertaining but not limited to graduation and transfer requirements, careers and career goals, outreach and recruitment, and student progress. Student populations may include military, Career and College Promise, Early College East, adult, and traditional students. This position also provides guidance and mentoring to optimize the student experience, improve student retention and success, and assist the College in achieving its mission and vision of service to the community.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Provides academic advising to new and returning students to include transcript review, registration, and other admissions related dutiesParticipates in cross-training activities for advising and other areas of service in the First StopAdmits, administers, and proctors exams for qualified personnel in accordance with policies and procedures of the National Testing Center, Marine Corps Air Station – Cherry Point, and Craven Community CollegeCollaborates with Veteran’s Affairs, Career and College Promise, and financial aid staff to ensure eligibility requirements are metReceives and processes documentation for MyCAA and Tuition Assistance benefitsMeets with students regularly for advising, long-range planning, career assessments, and student well-beingConducts needs assessments (social, emotional, financial, etc.) and directs students to appropriate resources to ensure whole student successCollaborates with internal and external stakeholders and seeks new and innovative opportunities to facilitate student recruitment and retention effortsCollaborates with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate student recruitment and retention efforts in the pursuit of constant improvementDevelops and maintains collaborations with external partners such as Havelock High School, MCAS Cherry Point, etc.

Maintains documentation of all student contact in Colleague, AVISO, and other school-sanctioned databases to alert other advisors of the outcomes of student meetingsMaintains currency with all educational offerings in liberal arts and university transfer, career programs, workforce development, etc. to effectively match student needs and abilities with program and career opportunitiesCollaborates with New Bern student services to ensure seamless student experience across locationsParticipates in appropriate committees and task forces as assignedPerforms other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College’s mission, core values and goals
