Assistant Principal 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Bayboro, NC 28515 The Assistant Principal serves as a key member of the school leadership team, supporting the principal in creating a safe, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment for all students. This position exists to promote academic excellence, positive student behavior, and a collaborative school culture. The Assistant Principal will assist in implementing instructional programs, supporting teacher development, managing student discipline, and fostering partnerships with families and the broader community. The role requires a dynamic, student-centered leader who understands the unique academic, social, and emotional needs of middle school students and is dedicated to guiding them through this critical stage of their development. The role calls for a passionate, student-centered leader who inspires young adolescents to discover their potential, build confidence, and grow into compassionate, capable individuals ready to thrive in high school and beyond. This is 10 month position. Qualifications Masters’ Degree in School Administration Must hold or be eligible to hold a North Carolina Professional License with endorsement area: School Administrator. Duties and Responsibilities Assists to implement student orientation and registration activities Supports the principal in developing and implementing school-wide goals aligned with district priorities and student achievement. Assist in the supervision and evaluation of instructional staff to ensure high-quality teaching and learning. Monitor student discipline and attendance, ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance with district policies. Communicate effectively and consistently with parents, staff, and community members to build strong partnerships. Collaborate with teachers to analyze student data and support interventions that promote academic growth for all learners. Serve as a key member of the leadership team in developing school improvement plans and monitoring progress. Assits with overseeing school events, assemblies, extracurricular activities, and safety drills. Assists in completion of records and reports and in the supervision and inventory of necessary supplies, textbooks, equipment, and materials Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture that meets the academic, social, and emotional needs of middle school students. Support the development of professional learning communities (PLCs) and ongoing teacher professional development. Serve as a liaison between students, staff, and administration to resolve issues and maintain a productive learning environment. Ensure campus safety by monitoring building operations, emergency procedures, and supervision of common areas. Participate in hiring processes, mentoring new staff, and contributing to a positive workplace culture. Serves as the bus supervisor at Pamlico County Middle School. Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor Skills and Abilities Ability to relate to students with mutual respect while carrying out a positive and effective discipline policy Ability to communicate effectively Ability to use tact when dealing with upset and angry individuals Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, and staff Ability to maintain accurate records
