Position Summary:
Ridgewood Elementary is seeking a dynamic and innovative Media Coordinator to lead and manage the school’s media center. The ideal candidate will foster a love of reading, support digital literacy, and collaborate with teachers to enhance instruction and student learning through print and digital resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the daily operations of the media center, including circulation, inventory, and digital resources
Promote a culture of reading, inquiry, and exploration among K-5 students
Collaborate with classroom teachers to support instruction, co-teach lessons, and integrate research and technology skills into the curriculum
Maintain and curate the current media collection
Provide digital citizenship instruction and support responsible use of technology
Assist with school-wide initiatives such as book fairs, reading challenges, and STEAM learning
Serve as a technology resource for staff and students
Create a welcoming and engaging media space for all learners
Qualifications:
NC DPI Media Coordinator License (076 certification) or eligibility for licensure
Strong knowledge of children’s literature, digital tools, and instructional technology
Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
Passion for student achievement and 21st-century learning
