Job Description

Assistant Principal White Mountains SAU 35 Lisbon, NH 03585 Position Duties and Responsibilities Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position: Works with the Principal to develop and implement a discipline policy which is fair and consistent, well understood by students and parents.

Enforces all discipline policies fairly and consistently with students.

Keeps parents well informed of any student discipline issues.

Attends a Board meeting at the end of each quarter and provides the Board a quarterly report on student attendance and discipline. Works with local law enforcement agencies when student actions break the law or violate the safe school act.

Is available for individual conferences with staff, students, and parents at mutually agreed upon times. Establishes the confidence and respect of students, teachers, support staff, and parents.

Keeps in confidence information that has been obtained in the course of professional service, unless disclosure serves professional purpose or protects someones safety, or is required by law.

Impartially supervises and evaluates teachers assigned by the Principal on a continuous basis.

Works with the Principal to formulate staff development goals cooperatively with individual teachers and assists in the attainment of those goals. Ensures that students are properly supervised at all times. Keeps abreast of developments in techniques and content in professional literature relating to school administration.

Takes advantage of appropriate courses, in-service training, and conferences to enhance administrative skills.

Support district decisions and directions relative to matters of policy and administrative directives.

Demonstrate ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful and professional manner.

Address concerns and offer suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner.

Follows all federal, state, and school district policies, laws, and procedures that pertain to public education. Other task as assigned.
