Position Overview:
Overbrook High School is seeking a dependable, friendly, and highly organized Front Office Secretary to join our high school team on a temporary basis. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for students, staff, parents, and visitors, ensuring the front office runs efficiently and professionally. This person will also be responsible for the clerical responsibilities normally associated with an Assistant Principal’s secretary.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist students, staff, parents, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. Answer, screen, and direct phone calls and emails. Assist in the maintenance of student attendance and daily sign-ins/outs. Provide clerical support to school leadership and faculty. Assist in the management of front office supplies and inventory. Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries. Uphold confidentiality and follow all school and district policies. Assist in emergency procedures and daily school operations as needed. Coordinate appointments and meetings for Assistant Principals Facilitate the management of student discipline files and be responsible for state discipline reporting
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or Google Suite. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher preferred. Prior experience in an educational or office setting is strongly preferred. Proficiency in the Genesis Student Information System is preferred. Familiarity with NJ Homeroom preferred. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Professional demeanor and a commitment to customer service. Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM Position follows the school calendar with select holidays and breaks off
