Summer Camp Counselor 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Bronx, NY 10452 Our summer camp programs located throughout the Bronx are actively seeking motivated role-models who have experience facilitating social-emotional, academic, and enrichment activities. The candidate must organize and facilitate structured lessons for their respective elementary/ school-age group. We are a community that fosters healthy relationships and trust with children, their families, and all stakeholders. The applicant must be familiar with state and city agency policies/ procedures.

The candidate will:

Assist children in skill acquisition per Next Generation Standards. Implement lesson plans aligned with curricula. Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, emergency information, educational tracking, intervention records, lesson plans, etc. Regularly attend staff meetings. Work in a team environment and encourage open communication regarding concerns/ issues with children, parents or co-workers. Communicate with the Site Director and/ or Site Supervisor daily. Initiate and maintain positive relationships with school staff including Principal, secretaries, custodial staff and teachers of key importance to the after school programs. Ensure the safety of children by keeping a consistent head count on all children present at site; communicate changes with all other staff. Assist in maintaining cleanup schedules; including janitorial duties necessary to maintain the cleanliness of the school facility. Ensure that all staff and children are respectful of school property; ensure all school rules are followed.

Qualifications:

Minimum of one year experience working with children ages 6-12.
