Position Overview:
The Elementary Principal serves as the educational leader and administrator of the PK-4 school building, responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction, student achievement, staff development, and a safe, inclusive, and positive school culture. This individual will implement the District’s mission and vision at the building level, aligning all efforts with the strategic goals of the Cattaraugus-Little Valley Central School District.

Month, Full-Time Administrative PositionKey Responsibilities:
- Instructional LeadershipoLead the implementation of a rigorous, standards-based curriculum aligned with NYS Learning Standards.
oPromote data-driven instruction and continuous school improvement through assessment analysis and instructional coaching.oEnsure academic and social-emotional interventions are implemented to meet diverse student needs, including special education, ELL, and economically disadvantaged populations.
- Personnel ManagementoSupervise, evaluate, and support all instructional and non-instructional personnel within the elementary building.oRecruit, hire, and retain high-quality staff members.oFoster a professional culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Student Support and DisciplineoPromote student-centered practices that emphasize positive behavior, restorative practices, and character development.oEnforce the District’s Code of Conduct while supporting equitable, proactive discipline measures.
- Family and Community EngagementoBuild strong relationships with families to promote engagement, trust, and shared responsibility for student success.oCommunicate effectively and regularly with stakeholders through newsletters, meetings, and events.
- Operational OversightoOversee daily school operations, including scheduling, safety protocols, transportation coordination, and building use.oManage building-level budgets and resources responsibly and efficiently.
- Compliance and ReportingoEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local education laws, policies, and regulations.
oMaintain accurate student records, accountability reports, and required state documentation.

Required:
oNYS School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS) certificationoMinimum of 5 years of successful experience in education, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory roleoDemonstrated knowledge of elementary curriculum, instructional strategies, and special education services

Preferred:
oExperience in a rural school district settingoFamiliarity with MTSS, PBIS, and trauma-informed practicesoStrong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
