Our school is known for its commitment to academic excellence, fostering a safe and inclusive environment, and building strong partnerships with families and the community. We are seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and visionary Principal to lead our dedicated staff and diverse student body into an exciting new chapter of growth and achievement. As the Principal, you will serve as the educational leader and chief administrator of Maryvale Intermediate School, guiding our students through a pivotal stage of their academic and personal development. You will inspire a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and innovation while ensuring that every student feels valued and supported. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the school, including curriculum implementation, staff development, and student discipline, while fostering a positive school climate that promotes equity and social-emotional learning. Your leadership will be instrumental in advancing our school’s mission to provide a rigorous, student-centered education that prepares young learners for success in middle school and beyond. You will work closely with teachers, staff, parents, and community stakeholders to align instructional practices with district goals and state standards, while also celebrating the unique strengths of our students. By leveraging data-driven decision-making, you will monitor student progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to close achievement gaps. The ideal candidate will be an experienced educator with a proven track record of instructional leadership and school management. Key Responsibilities:

Provide visionary leadership to create a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving school culture. Oversee curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices to ensure academic rigor and student growth. Recruit, mentor, and evaluate a talented team of educators and support staff, fostering professional growth and collaboration. Manage school operations, including budgeting, scheduling, facilities, and compliance with district and state regulations. Engage families and community partners to strengthen school-home connections and support student success. Promote social-emotional learning and implement restorative practices to support student well-being and behavior. Use data to drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning, and school-wide outcomes.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field (required). New York State School Building Leader (SBL) certification or equivalent (required). Minimum of five years of experience in education, with at least three years in a leadership role (e.g., principal, assistant principal, or instructional coach). Demonstrated success in improving student achievement and fostering a positive school culture. Strong knowledge of elementary education, curriculum design, and evidence-based instructional strategies. Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience leading a school serving diverse student populations or in an urban or suburban setting. Familiarity with New York State Education Department standards and assessments.
