Smurfit Westrock:
Safety
- Responsible for the overseeing ofthe safety performance of the business unit
- Ensures adequatefollow up and investigation for incidents within the business unit
- Supports Mill Safety Leadership Team Quality
- Ensuresconformance to the established quality management system
- Participates in the resolution of customer concerns and qualityissues Cost/Business
- Develops annual operating plans andobjectives with management
- Provides leadership to business unitto operate to plan
- Participates in the long term strategicplanning of the business unit
- Develops the business unit annualcapital plan with Mill Operations, Engineering and Maintenance
- Participates in the engineering and design of business unit capitalprojects
- Sponsors the approved capital spending within thebusiness unit
- Participates in the negotiations of short and longterm agreements Production/Operations
- Participates in line outageplanning to insure thorough planning and successful execution ofthe outage to plan
- Approve work orders and assists with prioritysetting
- Provides daily business unit direction to the Shift TeamCoordinator and Line Team Coordinator Leadership
- Providesbusiness unit leadership and direction for the business unitactivities utilizing the assigned and aligned resources.
- Establishes common goals and objectives to achieve desired businessresults
- Assigns required tasks and projects to business unitresources to accomplish stated goals and objectives
- Facilitatesthe ‘self-managed’ work team culture within the business unit
- Drives use of DMSI daily rounds and use of Daily Management System(DMS) Culture
- Cultivates the horizontal and vertical concept forcontinuous improvement
- Establishes personal and business unitcultural goals
- Participates in the performance evaluations of thealigned resources
- Participates in Mill and Line Team StandingCommittees
- Exemplifies and cultivates behaviors supporting MillCore Values of Respect, Trust, Integrity, Responsibility andInitiative Training
- Provides technical expertise for the businessunit
- Provides leadership for the successful execution of theOperations Pay for Skills training system
- Develop personalprofessional development plans
- Housekeeping
- Conducts periodichousekeeping audits to ensure standards are achieved What you need:
The successful candidate will have a BS degree in related fieldsuch as Chemical Engineering or Pulp and Paper science; minimumfive years’ experience in pulp and paper industry or HS diplomawith minimum of 15 years of experience in multiple papermills.
Demonstrated computer competency.
Helpful Experience:
Operationalexperience desirable. Excellent interpersonal skills in verbal andwritten communications. Ability to respond in urgent situations.
Ability to multi-task several priorities and projectssimultaneously. Ability to plan long and short-term solutions tosafety, quality, cost, productivity concerns. Possess advancedtheoretical and practical papermaking skills. Strong orientationfor process optimization. Open-minded, good listener. Enthusiastic,motivated, high initiative. Trouble Shooter, creative thinker,problem solving with a responsibility for business unit results.
Demonstrated safe work practices and behavior. Desire to drive toresolution. Demonstrated computer competency specifically inMicrosoft Word, Excel, and OSI PI Systems. Presents a professionalimage. ISO Experience or similar quality management systemexperience.

Compensation Range:
$159,375
- $215,625 The above range representsthe expected base salary for this position.
The actual salary mayvary based upon several factors including, but not limited torelevant skills and experience, credentials for the position, timein an applicable role, and geographic location.
