Position Summary:
The Penn-Delco School District is seeking a highly motivated, visionary, and experienced educational leader to serve as the Middle School Principal at our award-winning Northley Middle School. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive leadership in all aspects of school operations, ensuring a positive, safe, and academically rigorous environment for all students and staff. This is a full-time, 12-month Act 93 position.
Key Responsibilities:
The Middle School Principal will provide leadership in the following areas:
Staff Development and Supervision:
Foster a culture of continuous professional growth, provide effective supervision and evaluation of all faculty and staff, and support instructional best practices.
Teaching and Learning:
Champion a student-centered approach to teaching and learning, promote innovative instructional strategies, and ensure the implementation of a rigorous curriculum aligned with district goals and state standards.
Special Education:
Oversee the effective delivery of special education services, ensuring compliance with all regulations and providing appropriate support for students with diverse learning needs.
Master Scheduling:
Develop and manage an effective master schedule that optimizes instructional time, supports student learning, and allocates resources efficiently.
School/Community Relations:
Cultivate strong, positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider community, fostering open communication and collaborative partnerships.
Oversight and Development of Co-Curricular Activities and Athletics:
Provide leadership and support for a comprehensive range of co-curricular activities and athletic programs, recognizing their vital role in student development.
Orderly Environment:
Ensure the provision of a safe, orderly, and respectful environment for all students, promoting positive behavior and a strong school culture.
Budget Management:
Manage school resources responsibly and within budgetary guidelines.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all district policies, state regulations, and federal laws.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s Degree required.
Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in public education required, including secondary school instruction.
Experience as a secondary Assistant Principal, Principal, or central office administrator is required.
Pervious Principal or supervisory experience is required.
Certification:
Proper Pennsylvania administrative certification is necessary.
Skills:
Evidence of excellent leadership, supervisory, and communication skills is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to inspire staff, engage students, and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders. Additionally, experience with instructional technology and leading improvements to student achievement is preferred.
