This role may be eligible for $10,000 in bonuses as well as up to$5,000 for relocation expenses! Positions available in bothPhiladelphia and Camden! Assistant Principals of Instruction (APIs)lead within their content specialty – opportunities are availableas an API of ELA, K-2nd/Early Elementary, or STEM. New-to-MasteryAssistant Principals can expect a starting salary between $106,600and $123,500, based on experience and education. The full salaryrange for this role is $106,600 to $135,000, with opportunities forgrowth as your career progresses. All offers are reviewedindividually to ensure equity in compensation and to reflectrelevant experience.

As an Assistant Principal ofInstruction (API) at Mastery Schools, you will inspire educators toexcel in their craft and empower students to reach their highestpotential. Your responsibilities will include developing andsupervising a talented team of teachers, offering guidance andsupport to enhance their teaching effectiveness and professionalgrowth as they strive to foster participatory, student-centeredclassrooms. Additionally, you will coordinate assessments tomonitor students’ academic performance, identify areas forimprovement, and implement data-driven strategies to enhancelearning outcomes. Collaborating closely with your principal, youwill work to create and uphold an outcomes-driven, joyfuleducational environment that supports students in developing theskills necessary to pursue their dreams. Duties and Responsibilities:

Drive and supportimplementation of Mastery Schools’ vision and guiding principles toensure a positive, achievement-focused school culture for teachers,staff and students Lead and supervise a high-functioning team ofeducators focused on driving superior academic performance andfostering a high level of personal responsibility Superviseteachers’ instructional methods, evaluate lesson plans, provideweekly observations and professional development opportunities, andcoach teachers around effective instructional strategies Identifystudents who could benefits from additional support and guide themtoward supplemental educational services as necessary Engageparents and other community members in school activities toengender a neighborhood-centered approach to learning anddevelopment Support the Principal in ensuring effective collectionand analysis of student performance data to identify strugglingstudents, curriculum shortfalls, and teacher quality issues Managevarious administration functions, including testing schedules andabsenteeism needs for teachers

Qualifications:

Superior grasp ofeffective instructional and behavioral methods and strategies foreducating urban youth Strong people and project management ability,with the proven ability to influence and enhance cooperativeworking relationships within a team environment Interest inproviding only the highest quality educational experience forstudents and their families Ability to thrive in a fast-paced,dynamic, and rapidly-changing environment Ability to leveragecomputer software programs and other technology that will supportthe learning environment

Education and Experience:

Minimum of three(3) years of demonstrated success in the classroom, preferablywithin an urban school setting Master’s Degree in Educationstrongly preferred Experience in and/or understanding of the publicschool system or charter schools is desirable

PhysicalRequirements:

Ability to physically perform the duties and to workin the environmental conditions required such as maneuvering inclassrooms and office space-reaching file cabinets, filing, faxing,scanning, coping, typing, mailing, and making phone calls; Must beable to sit for up to two (2) hours looking at a computer monitor,using a keyboard/mouse and typing.
