Job Description

Anderson School District Two is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as Principal of Marshall Primary School in Belton, SC. This individual will oversee the day-to-day operations of the school, working collaboratively with staff, students, families, and the community to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. The Principal will be responsible for curriculum development, staff supervision, budget management, and fostering a culture of academic excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Carries out the policies, regulations, and requirements of the Board of Trustees, the Superintendent, and/or his designee. Provides leadership which will result in an orderly, disciplined, effective educational environment. Supervises and evaluates the school’s instructional program focusing on student achievement. Directs and supervises all support and certified personnel; evaluates support and certified personnel in accordance with district wide and state evaluation procedures. Assigns responsibilities to assistant principals to foster professional growth and an effective instructional program. Assigns duties to professional personnel including assignments to instructional groups, rooms, and supervision duties. Works to maintain student welfare and desirable school-student and school-community relationships. Seeks to maintain a positive school culture and climate. Assists in the development of policies and procedures in accordance with district and Board policies. Develops and coordinates a school schedule that meets students’ needs and adheres to district guidelines. Supervises and is responsible for the care and operation of school buildings, grounds, and other school materials and equipment. Plans, organizes and implements the school’s emergency preparedness plan. Prepares school budget and manages funds according to district policy. Executes a program in recruitment, selection, assignment, orientation, and other related personnel activities for the assigned school; recommends employment and dismissal of personnel in accordance with district personnel policies and procedures. Assists in selection of and supervises distribution, storage and inventory of all textbooks, materials of instruction, and supplies for building operation. Supervises and is responsible for all student activities for the school; coordinates activities of assigned school with activities of other schools in the system. Assists in planning, organizing, and implementing staff development programs for the staff of his/her school. Keeps informed of current trends and research studies, innovative ideas dealing with school organization, personnel practices, curricula possibilities, etc. Familiarizes him/herself with requirements of state and regional accrediting agencies and so organizes and operates as to confirm to such regulations. Brings all substantial contractual agreements between the school and any concerns to the attention of appropriate district personnel before any commitment, or any other form of obligation, is made. Assists in the supervision of students in school-sponsored events, including night activities; encourages teacher participation in school and/or school related activities such as seasonal programs, concerts, etc. Prepares various records and forms as are required by the district, regional, state, and federal school authorities. Participates in professional meetings and educational conferences; maintains professional status. Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Education Leadership from an accredited educational institution. Must possess certification as a School Principal be the state of South Carolina Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience Minimum of 3 years administrative experience preferred Strong leadership and management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Experience leading Professional Learning Communities Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
