Beaufort County, SC Job Responsibilities Job Purpose:

The Student Support Services Director has primary responsibility for administering all aspects of this categorical, federally funded TRIO grant program to ensure all objectives are met. This position is responsible to the TRIO Director/Associate Vice President within the Student Affairs Division of the Technical College of the Lowcountry. Duties and Responsibilities Provides direction to the SSS coordinators through guidance in state and federal laws. Oversee the Peer Mentoring Program and Student Support Services (SSS) Instructional Tutorial Seminar. A) Success seminars/workshops to enhance the participants academic, personal, and cultural development, and B)Oversee project activities and evaluations as they relate to career readiness. Work with internal and external participants in building and maintaining positive relationships; develop and manage a program budget; developing and implementing strategies to improve student success. Manages the assessment of participants and interpret diagnostic assessments to develop individual support services plans for SSS students and to determine academic, career, and motivational needs. Provide the leadership for a campus informational outreach effort to attract participants who are either low-income, first-generation, or an individual with disabilities who have a need for academic support to complete a 2-year degree or certificate. Implement a staff development program to improve effectiveness efficiency of the services provided by the SSS Personnel. Make presentations to faculty, staff and administrators to inform them about the TRIO programs services, select new participants, and coordinate a new participant orientation. Organize, develop, and disseminate brochures, pamphlets and other informational material publicizing the availability of student and academic series provided by the SSS Program. Minimum and Additional Requirements Bachelor’s Degree and experience in Student Services Programs. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree with experience in Student Services Programs especially with the economically and educationally disadvantaged. Some experience in supervision.
